What we do: overview

What we do

NCS is a non-profit organisation giving practical support to commissioners who would like to plan and deliver more cost-effective, better quality neurology services that fit into the QIPP agenda.

The support we give commissioners is closely informed by service users’ and carers’ views. We work closely with our four partner charities: MND AssociationMS SocietyParkinson’s UK and Epilepsy Society.

Delegates at an NCS workshop in CornwallThese leading neurological charities are dedicated to securing the care and support service users and carers need, giving us a unique perspective on commissioning.

‘One of the exciting opportunities that the current reforms provide is to involve those who know best about care to help commission that care. NCS has demonstrated a deep understanding of patient need, which it has demonstrated through experience and delivery. This knowledge and involvement of patients in the commissioning process has enabled them to increase the value of local services.’
